The Revolution in Insulation Testing

That's the spark: Our unique process revolutionizes insulation tests using conductive films made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).

With our PTFE Insulation Test Technology – or PITT for short – any surface to be insulated can be tested completely and carefully with a wide range of voltage levels. The patented, extremely robust contact material continues to function even after more than a thousand electric shocks at the same point.

The result: superior efficiency, sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

The Procedure at a Glance

Step 1: Customized design of the system for the respective test specimen

Step 2: Construction made of conductive PTFE film, which is flexibly supported by a highly flexible foam

Step 3: To test the insulation, the device is pressed onto the surface of the test specimen and voltage is connected to the foil.

Our Insulation Test: Simply Different

Conventional insulation tests - e.g. of battery cases and cells - are carried out by means of voltage contacting with needles. This method is selective and random and leads to the destruction of the contact in the event of mismeasurements.

However, with PITT we use PTFE films developed and patented in-house by Berghof Fluoroplastics for contacting.

These conductive films are puncture-proof, acid-base resistant and virtually indestructible. Our process is suitable for any surface in need of insulation, regardless of size and voltage level.
