Gigahertz Optik: A donation for holistic well-being for the Marie-Luise Schattenmann House

The mental and physical well-being of its employees is very important to the Berghof Group. For this reason, the "Moving Forward Challenge" was organised again this year among all business units. A competition that promotes team spirit and sportsmanship, with the money raised at the end being donated to charity. The winning team of this year's challenge, Gigahertz Optik GmbH, traditionally gets to decide where the money raised will go.

This year's donation of €1,881.31 will go to the Marie-Luise-Schattenmann-Haus (MLSH) in Munich.

The money will be used to support two key areas of the home: the promotion of sporting and mental activities for the residents, and technical equipment for the social workers.

Support as recognition of daily commitment to holistic well-being

The Marie-Luise-Schattenmann-Haus (https://mlsh.de/) is part of the Association for International Youth Work in Munich and offers support to young women in difficult life situations. The aim is to promote the mental and physical health of the residents and thus create an important basis for the personal development of the young women.

The choice of charity is in keeping with the spirit of the 'Moving Forward Challenge' and will go to an organisation that promotes both aspects in the care of its residents. This underlines the company's commitment to holistic wellbeing.

Donation with heart and mind!

The donation will be used in two key areas.

1. Supporting the physical and mental activities of the residents: This will include the purchase of yoga equipment, meditation materials and other tools that will benefit both residents and staff in their daily work. The additional opportunities will help the young women to overcome mental barriers and develop a sustainable routine for their physical and mental health.

2. technical support for social workers:  The provision of technical equipment will help to improve communication and management between staff, making it easier to provide specialist support to female residents. This will ensure more efficient and targeted care.

The entire Berghof Group is pleased to be able to contribute to the positive organisation of the Marie-Luise Schattenmann House.

A strong signal for people in crisis

With this donation, the Gigahertz Optik team is sending a strong message about the importance of mental and physical health in everyday life. The decision to make the donation to the Marie-Luise Schattenmann House is not only in recognition of the services provided there, but also to encourage others to promote sport and mental health in equal measure. After all, the Berghof Group believes that this is one of the cornerstones of a fulfilled and healthy life.

The top activities were cycling, walking/hiking and everyday exercise, documented by 2,030 photos on the Teamfit app, a platform specifically designed to document team activities and personal progress. The challenge demonstrates how employees can keep moving through collective and personal efforts to improve their physical and mental health.
